Botox Compensation Claims No Win No Fee

If you have suffered as a result of negligent botulinum (Botox) injection treatment, it may be possible to bring a no win no fee action against the person or clinic that applied this treatment. It may be that you suffered harm not through cosmetic treatment but as a muscle stimulant or relaxant method for muscle control in which case the claim can still be made but much of what follows may not apply directly to you, call today to discuss. Botox is administered by injection directly into tissue. The Botox formulae works by preventing the release of  the naturally occurring chemical acetylcholine which causes the muscles to contract. It is also sometimes injected into the neck, the jaw and the armpits to treat excessive sweating or even the colon to control the urgency created by bowel diseases such as crones and ulcerative collitus  .

Typical Botox Related Injury Claims

There is a myth that Botox injuries are transient, that is to say that the effects of Botox rarely last for more than 6 months as this is how long the injection effect typically lasts. However, whilst partially true, this is a simplification, many injuries can result in permanent nerve deficits which can have profound effects on peoples appearance. It is however fair to say that such claims are a minority in the man Botox related injury tends to follow the below listed patterns:

1. Allergic reactions and localised swelling, pins and needless or loss of sensation.

2. Localised paralysis.

3. Dribbling, Slurred speech and messy eating.

4. Facial disfigurement

5. Stress and Anxiety and associated Headaches and tension pain.
6. Blurred vision and lazy eye.
7. Psychological damage.

What is Botox Exactly?

Botox is a medicinal compound made up of complex proteins which have been synthetically manufactured from the neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum, this Botox then is often reffered to as the botulinum toxin. It's the same parent bacteria that causes a life-threatening type of food poisoning called botulism. However, it is important not to get the two things mixed up. Botulinum toxin is a neurotoxic protein produced by that bacterium Clostridium botulinum and related species it is not Botulism.  Infection with the bacterium is what causes the disease botulism. So they share the same parent but Botox and Botulism are different things entirely. In a cosmetic setting the Botox Injections have various brand names, such as Xeomin, Bocouture, Myobloc and Vistabel.

How Can Things Go Wrong with Botox?

Since being licensed as a medical product the widespread use of Botox has seen many hundreds of thousands if not millions of clinical and cosmetic related treatments without incident. This does not mean however, that the use of the product is risk free.  It is certainly true to say that generally speaking Botox injections are safe, even with some small after effects for some users (flu-like symptoms). However, it should be recognised that significant problems may ocour that require medical intervention. Any issue related to vision defects such as blurred or double vision or breathing difficulties should result in an emergency triage at your local .
